CARDS: SECURITY MEASURES
In order to maintain your security, learn about our recommendations for using your card.
Be cautious when using your card and avoid card swapping or card capture and cyber fraud.
Card Frauds
The most common type of card fraud occurs through card verification, when malicious people copy the information encoded on your card's magnetic strip and transfer it to a replica of your card. Protect your confidential/personal information and never disclose card details (eg card number, expiry date and CVV).
Precautions to take to avoid card fraud
Remember your PIN – Avoid taking notes on your phone and other devices that could lead to your decryption. For your convenience, you can change it at any ATM;
Cover the keyboard with your hand whenever you enter your PIN;
Check that the card is the original after each transaction at the TPA or ATM;
Avoid using the ATM in poorly lit areas or in areas with little movement, as they are more prone to some type of criminal action;
Sign your credit card when you receive it from the bank;
When making online purchases, use your card only on secure pages and never disclose your card number and expiration date by email;
Remember: no transaction can be made with your Visa Electron or Maestro debit card without your PIN.
